Day Two: The Big Show – Feeling the Thunder

Alright, day two is definitely what you came for. In the morning, you’ll typically join your guided tour of the falls themselves. It is just a little bit of a walk from the town to the park entrance on the Zimbabwe side, you know. Now, the first thing that hits you is the sound, which is literally this enormous, continuous roar that seems to come from everywhere. As you walk along the path to the different lookout points, the spray from the falls gets more and more intense.

At the end of the day, you’ll be tired but just full of awe.

Day Three: A Final Taste and Heading Home

So, on your last morning, things are a bit more relaxed. You’ll likely have a final breakfast at your hotel, right. Most packages leave this morning free for you to do whatever you want before your transfer back to the airport. To be honest, this is a pretty good opportunity to do some last-minute souvenir shopping. The local markets are actually filled with wood carvings, stone sculptures, and colorful fabrics, and stuff. You can pretty much find something unique to take home with you. It is also a nice time to just grab a coffee at a local café and sort of soak in the atmosphere of the town one last time, you know. Some people even go back for one last look at the falls from the bridge that connects Zimbabwe and Zambia. Then, in the meantime, your pre-arranged transport will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport for your flight home, which is all really easy.

Our Honest Opinion: Is This Type of Package for You?

So, the question is, is this kind of pre-set package the best choice for you? Frankly, if this is your first time visiting, or if you prefer having the main parts of your trip planned out, then the answer is almost certainly yes. It’s incredibly convenient, and you’re sort of guaranteed to see the highlights without any stress. In fact, for families, it’s a really great option because the logistics are basically handled for you. On the other hand, if you are a more independent person who likes total flexibility, you might feel a little restricted, you know. You could, for instance, want to spend more time at a particular viewpoint or explore something completely off the beaten path. In that case, you might be better off booking your hotel and activities separately. One last tip: seriously consider which side of the falls you want to stay on. The Zimbabwean side, you know, has views of about 75% of the falls, while the Zambian side offers a different, very up-close perspective, especially during the dry season. Each one offers a slightly different experience, really.
